Meet Paris Harrington: Marine Retiree & Author of Paris Harrington Books
My story, like the ones I write, has been a journey through worlds. For fourteen years, I navigated the rigid structure and unpredictable chaos of the United States Marine Corps. Enlisting in 2007, my service took me across the globe on two combat deployments and through eighteen different countries, each landscape and human interaction sharpening my understanding of the world. It was a life of precision and consequence, one that ended not by choice, but by necessity, when I was medically retired in 2021 after three back surgeries.
The transition from Marine to author began in an unexpected place: the Pentagon. After a long weekend watching a TV series I felt was terrible, I found myself listening to a couple of my junior Marines recount their own weekend exploits. Their story was raw, unbelievable, and utterly authentic, the kind of tale you’d only believe by being there. As they spoke, my eyes landed on a simple notepad on a nearby desk. In that instant, two thoughts hit me with the force of a revelation: I can do anything someone else can do, and I can write better than what I just watched. A switch flipped. The mission changed. I picked up that notepad, and I began to write.

Retirement from the military wasn't an end, but a pivot toward that new mission. I channeled the discipline I'd learned into a rigorous pursuit of knowledge. I earned an associate’s degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus, a bachelor’s from Saint Martin’s University, and a master’s from Alabama A&M University, where I achieved the distinction of being the only student in my public administration cohort to graduate with a 4.0 GPA. I am now continuing that journey, pursuing a PhD at Liberty University.

Today, I serve as a security analyst, a role that demands an understanding of the complex systems that protect our society. It's a world of high-stakes analysis, not unlike the worlds I build in my fiction.

WELCOME!
From Service to Fiction
Paris Harrington’s path to storytelling didn’t begin in quiet observations, it was forged in the crucible of military service and the extreme edges of human experience. What started as a firsthand understanding of the unspoken bonds between brothers-in-arms evolved into a disciplined, relentless pursuit of narrative architecture. His journey is defined by a commitment to uncovering the raw truth behind human behavior, moving beyond the surface to find the cinematic rhythm not in the mundane, but in chaos, trauma, and survival.
Driven by the philosophy that fiction must act as an unflinching mirror to society's darkest corners, Paris crafts pulse-pounding stories that challenge readers to confront the gray areas of morality and consequence. His writing is marked by a deep exploration of combat memory, fractured identity, and the dangerous, fragile loyalties that bind us.
